This event is organized by the Centre communautaire de Paris,

the Association pour la Célébration du Centenaire d’Emmanuel Levinas (ACCEL, Paris)
the Raissa and Emmanuel Levinas Center (MOFET, Jerusalem),
and the The Levinas Ethical Legacy Foundation (LELF, New York),

From January 23 to 29, a series of centennial events will be held dealing with the humanistic message of Levinas’ works and the orientation of ontology towards ethics, the relationship of Levinas to other contemporary French philosophers, Levinas’ role in inter-religious dialogue, Levinas’ relationship to politics and to the State of Israel and his role in the rebirth of Judaism after the Holocaust, and finally on the contribution of Levinas’ works to social commitment in the areas of education, jurisprudence, economy and bioethics.Other events on the program include screening of videos and audio material, in particular interviews with Emmanuel Levinas made in the 1980s and the early 1990s.
